Intuit Online Payroll is easy to use. You don't need any training. You can sign up and pay employees today.


PayToday Setup

It's easy to get started. Just enter basic information about your company and then add information for each employee.

Setup takes about an hour if you have employee details and company tax identification numbers, such as FEIN and EIN, at hand. If you need to get company identification numbers, we have links to help you.

Once you have set up your account, you can create paychecks in just a few minutes every pay day. Just follow these steps:

  • Log in to Intuit Online Payroll's secure website.
  • Enter hours for employees and contractors, and click Create Paychecks.

STEP 2: Pay employees instantly

  • Click to pay employees by free direct deposit; or
  • Print paychecks on your own printer.
  • Choose between blank or pre-printed checks.

STEP 3: Pay taxes and file forms effortlessly

  • We complete your payroll forms for you.
  • Click to send electronic federal payments and forms (W-2, 940, 941, 944).[1]

  1. With Intuit Online Payroll Plus, the e-File & Pay feature is available for federal and most state forms and taxes. For states where e-File is not available, Intuit will provide signature ready forms or worksheets. With Basic, e-File & Pay is only available for federal taxes and forms.
  2. Intuit Online Payroll Accurate Calculation Guarantee. Intuit works diligently to ensure the accuracy of all federal, state and local taxes calculated by Intuit Online Payroll. In the unlikely event our calculations are incorrect, Intuit will pay resulting penalties incurred. Customer must provide Intuit with a tax statement from the IRS showing a tax penalty incurred as a result of a calculation error during the time that you were an active Intuit Online Payroll subscriber. Client must present a copy of this letter to Intuit within 3 months of receiving the letter from the IRS. You are responsible for paying any additional tax liability you may owe and providing any other information Intuit reasonably requests. Terms, conditions, pricing, features, functionality, service and support are subject to change at any time without notice.
  3. Your 30 day free trial period begins when you run your first payroll. After the first 30 days, you pay the special $9.99 price for the next 2 months. After the first 30 days, you will automatically be charged at the then current monthly fee for the service level you have selected, until you cancel. Currently the monthly pricing is $39 for Plus; or $25 for Basic; or $20 for Household for 1 employee and 1 state. For Basic and Plus, 1 employee is included; each additional active employee is $1.50 per month. For Plus, if you file taxes in more than one state each additional state is $12 per month. Basic does not include state tax filing. Sales tax also may be charged where applicable. The trial is available for Intuit Online Payroll Plus, Basic or Household versions. You may cancel at any time online within your payroll account (click the Setup tab and then click Cancel Service) or by calling (866) 729-2925. This limited time offer is valid for new Intuit Online Payroll subscribers only and cannot be combined with other offers.   4. Pricing based on 8/09 comparison of Intuit Online Payroll Plus and Basic vs Paychex small business category and the ADP Small Business Compliance package. Monthly fee based on 1 state for 1 employee running payroll on a bi-weekly basis. With Intuit Online Payroll, you create paychecks yourself and handle tax forms and filings, whereas with ADP and Paychex, the entire payroll processing, creating paychecks and tax forms and filings are handled by ADP and Paychex.
