Can I still manage my client's files if they're using Enterprise Solutions?

We've created a single-license version of the Enterprise Solutions software that allows accountants to manage their clients who are using the software. It's called QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Accountant.


What if my client changes his/her mind — what is your return policy?

We stand behind Enterprise Solutions with a money-back satisfaction guarantee. If you're not satisfied, return it to Intuit within 60 days along with a dated receipt for a refund on your purchase price. That means your clients can try it with no risk whatsoever.


How do performance, stability and database connectivity measure up?

To maximize multiple user productivity, Enterprise Solutions multi-user mode is optimized for Microsoft® Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 client-server networks. Your clients now have the option of hosting your database server on a Linux operating system. Enterprise Solutions is also Remote Desktop Services compliant.[9] You can centrally locate Enterprise Solutions on a single server and provide access to your multiple users via the LAN or WAN for remote locations. As a result, you don't have to install Enterprise Solutions on each user's PC and you can maximize performance over lower bandwidth connections.

Enterprise Solutions has a powerful industry-standard SQL database to deliver the best performance for the application. QuickBooks Software Development Kit (SDK) provides APIs to developers and consultants to easily share (import and export) data from Enterprise Solutions. This allows selected sales, customer or financial data to automatically move between software products and prevents data from being corrupted in the sharing process. A free copy of SDK can be downloaded from http://developer.intuit.com. Over 200 business applications (sold separately) integrate with QuickBooks using the SDK.[10]

Your client can work in two company files at the same time by opening two instances of QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 12.0.[4] The first instance is referred to as the Primary instance and the second is referred to as the Secondary instance. Running two instances of QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 12.0 on computers with the following applications running is not recommended:

  • Intuit Sync Manager
  • Intuit Software Development Kit-based 3rd party applications
  • Some limitations will apply in the primary and secondary instance when running both at the same time. Click here for the list of limitations.

  1. Study conducted in November, 2008. Pricing analysis based on public information and information provided by accounting software industry professionals for installation supporting 10 users and including core accounting applications for four popular mid-market accounting solutions (excluding Sage Peachtree and DacEasy).
