Q: How is my membership renewed?

Intuit will notify you by email 30 days prior to the Effective Renewal Date that you will be charged the then-current Renewal Membership fee to the credit card on file. If your credit card is charged and you later elect not to renew your membership, you may cancel your membership and request a refund of the Renewal Membership fee by notifying Intuit no later than 60 days after the Effective Renewal Date by contacting ProAdvisor Customer Service at 888-250-7279.

If your membership lapses for any reason, you may re-join the Program. Please see Chapter 6, Section 13 entitled "QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program Agreement Term" for more information.

Q: Why is the price of the membership with Enhanced Payroll for Accountant more expensive than last year?

The Intuit QuickBooks^® Payroll Enhanced for Accountants An Intuit ProLine^® Solution annual subscription has increased in price by $50 (from $299/yr subscription to $349/yr subscription). The ProAdvisor Program with payroll option is therefore matching the payroll price with a $50 increase. Note - the price increase is not applicable to the ProAdvisor Program without payroll option.

Q: Am I entitled to the next version of QuickBooks software if released during my membership?

Yes. As part of your membership, when and if Intuit releases a future major Windows version of QuickBooks: Premier Accountant Edition and QuickBooks, Enterprise Solutions: Accountant Edition within your current Program membership period, Intuit will automatically ship you a copy of the applicable product(s) before they are released to the public (excluding off-cycle releases or extensions of the products). Your "AutoUpgrade" kit for QuickBooks: Premier Accountant Edition will also include updated QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program and QuickBooks information, so you can best support your clients.

Q: How long does a QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program membership last?

Membership in the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program is good for 12 months from your sign-up date. You will receive a membership renewal notice as your one-year anniversary approaches. (Completing QuickBooks Certification courses does not affect your renewal date.)

Q: How can I network with other QuickBooks ProAdvisors?

The first way you can meet other ProAdvisors is to go to the QuickBooks Find-a-ProAdvisor Web Site at www.qbproadvisor.com/advice and do a search on Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors in your area. You may want to search for ProAdvisors who provide complementary services to your own, so you can establish relationships with them and share referrals (example: if you only provide setup or training services, you may want to find a CPA with whom to partner).

Another great networking resource is the online QuickBooks Accountant Discussion Forum. Members tell us it's a great way to network to grow your business, share best practices, and get quick tips on how to solve difficult or unique customer issues.

ProAdvisors have their own forum that is visible only to QuickBooks ProAdvisors who have signed up for the expanded Accountant Community for QuickBooks Practitioners and Accounting Professionals. Access is granted only to current ProAdvisors and select Intuit employees.

Q: How much do QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification courses cost?

The QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification courses are included with your membership at no additional charge. Become a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and demonstrate excellence and proficiency with QuickBooks to your current and prospective clients. Upon successful completion of the courses and exam, you'll receive the following important benefits:

• Listing in the online QuickBooks Find-a-ProAdvisor Web site.
• Authorized use of the Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor logo.
• Eligibility for up to 16 CPE credits.
• Intuit's marketing assistance and public relations efforts, which provide exposure and business building opportunities for Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors.

In addition, QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) Certification, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Certification, and QuickBooks Advanced Certification are now included with membership at no additional fee. Q: How many CPE credits do I receive with the certification courses and how do I know if my state accepts the CPE credits?

QuickBooks Certification: You are eligible to receive up to 16 CPE credits when you successfully complete the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification courses for the first time. If you have earned certification in an earlier version, and take the latest Certification courses, you may be eligible for 2 - 4 CPE credits, depending upon your state requirements. You do not receive CPE credits for these certifications: QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) Certification, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Certification and QuickBooks Advanced Certification. However, if you attend the live webinars in preparation for the QuickBooks Advanced Certification, you can earn CPE credits for these courses.

PLEASE NOTE: Some states do not allow CPE credits when taking the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification courses. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. It is the responsibility of the individual earning the CPE credits to investigate what his/her own state board of accountancy recognizes with respect to any CPE course.

Q: How long does the certification process take?

QuickBooks Certification: For the first time through, depending on familiarity with QuickBooks prior to taking the certification courses, many members report it takes approximately 16 hours. This differs greatly among ProAdvisors, depending on their level of expertise.

QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) Certification and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Certifications: There are 14.5 hours of live and recorded webinar courses for each certification. You can choose to attend all, some, or none of these courses, depending on your experience level and comfort with the material. Additionally time reading the course materials and working with the software is up to you.

QuickBooks Advanced Certification: You must be certified in the current version of QuickBooks Certification, and you must complete an exam. Beyond that, it depends on how much time you choose to spend preparing for the exam. Please note that none of the training materials or live or recorded Webinars are required for Advanced Certification. These are only recommended methods of preparing for the certification exam.

Q: How often do I need to certify in each QuickBooks Certification?

QuickBooks Certification: Intuit recommends that you update your QuickBooks Certification status every year so to ensure you can provide the highest level of knowledge and support to your clients, and because only members who are certified on the latest version of QuickBooks will be listed in the top section of the QuickBooks Find-a-ProAdvisor Website.

QuickBooks POS Certification, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Certification, and QuickBooks Advanced Certification: These three certifications are now offered on a two year cycle so to stay updated, you only need to certify in these three certifications once every two years.

The number of referrals you receive from the Find-a-ProAdvisor Web site depends on a number of factors. Some things affecting the number of referrals you receive include:

• Whether or not you choose to complete the Advanced QuickBooks Certification.

In addition, Intuit representatives refer new QuickBooks POS and Enterprise Solutions customers to local Certified ProAdvisors who can help set up QuickBooks POS and Enterprise Solutions software, as well as other QuickBooks and accounting services. There are also marketing materials in the QuickBooks Point of Sale and Enterprise Solutions software boxes that notify these customers that the services of Certified QuickBooks Point of Sale and Enterprise Solution ProAdvisors are available.

Q: How do I get my professional credentials to appear with my name in the QuickBooks Find-a-ProAdvisor Web site?

You can include your credentials with your name by entering both in the Contact Name line of the enrollment form. For example, a CPA might enter the following on the enrollment form: John Smith, CPA. Note: QuickBooks users cannot search for information contained in the name field, so you must still complete the Professional Designations section of the enrollment form to indicate the type of professional you are.
