Certification Options for ProAdvisors

Certification Benefits

The QuickBooks Advanced Certification Course is designed to deepen the expertise of ProAdvisors who are already knowledgeable in QuickBooks, and distinguish these "QuickBooks experts" as highly proficient in this field.

• When you become a Certified Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor, you get a "logo" in your profile within the Find-a-ProAdvisor Web site, giving you more exposure to potential new clients and colleagues who aren't certified in the Advanced QuickBooks Certification, but need an expert to help clients set up QuickBooks.
• Once your certification is complete, you can use the Certified Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor logo on your business cards, advertisements, Web site, and other marketing material.

Upon completion, the Advanced Certification designation will last for 24 months, assuming your ProAdvisor membership stays current during this time period. Unlike the QuickBooks Certification, no specific years or versions will be associated with the Advanced Certification designation.

Prerequisites

To ensure the foundational knowledge and experience of ProAdvisors who are eligible for Advanced Certification, you must:

1. Complete 2007, 2008 and 2009 QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification Courses.
2. Complete the QuickBooks Advanced Certification exam.

After you are certified in the current QuickBooks version, you are free to complete the Advanced Certification exam at any point.

NOTE: No CPE credits
Because QuickBooks Advanced Certification includes an exam only, it does not qualify for CPE credits. However, if you choose to complete the optional online training or webinars in preparation for the exam, you are eligible to receive CPE credits for those courses.

About the Exam

This exam was created by QuickBooks Advanced Certified ProAdvisors and is designed to test for advanced-level QuickBooks knowledge and skills. The exam consists of 28 questions worth a total of 100 points. A passing score is 85% or higher. You may attempt the exam up to five times within a year's timeframe. If you do not successfully pass the exam, you will have to wait a year from the last attempt to receive five more attempts for the following year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How soon will certification in QuickBooks 2009 be available?
A: The QuickBooks 2009 ProAdvisor Certification will be released in mid fall 2008 and available from your course locker.

Q: When are the training courses being offered?
A: The live online webinars will be offered periodically throughout the year. We also offer these same webinars in recorded format so they are available whenever you would like to view them. Please click here for more information about all the training options available to you.

Q: What do you get for passing the Advanced Certification course?
A: ProAdvisors who pass the Advanced Certification receive:

1. Advanced Certification designation & priority placement on the Find-a-ProAdvisor Website, assuming the current QuickBooks certification is also completed.
2. Advanced designation in your profile within the QuickBooks Find-a-ProAdvisor Web site.
3. The ability to display the Advanced Certification logo on business cards, advertisements, Web site, and other marketing material.
